Tubal or Ectopic Pregnacy and Tubal Ligation Reversal?
If you never had your tubes tied, you would have a 2% chance of getting
pregnant in your fallopian tubes instead of your uterus (the normal place
to get pregnant). With tubal ligation reversal surgery your risk is about
6% or three times normal. As soon as you have a positive pregnancy test
let us know so we can coordinate tests to make sure you do not have an ectopic
or tubular pregnancy. We'll be calling you from time to time anyway.
Early tubular pregnancy can be managed with drugs that make surgery unnecessary.
Experience with patients with only one fallopian tube who become pregnant
in that tube and are treated medically, confirms that pregnancy can be achived
using a fallopian tube that has been cleared of an ectopic pregnancy using
medicine.
The first step to your next baby is to let us get a copy of the operative
report. You can download the request
form from this site and fax or send it to us. We would be happy to mail
you a copy of the Operative Note Request form, Health History form and a
brochure. You can call us at 770-531-0012, or email us using our contact
form. Once we have the operative report from your tubal ligation we
can give you an idea what is best for you. There is no charge for this evaluation
and no obligation.
